EVENT: Rutgers University Race Weekend (NJ)- March 5th & 6th
Sakonnet rider Michael Chauner opened the Teams victory account in last weekends Rutgers Criterium. Racing in his Bucknell University Collegiate colors Michael watched a breakaway move away from the field in the closing laps of the event. Deciding it was the move to be in Michael made a solo bridge up to the break. However the field was not ready to lie down and die and so the break was brought back with just 2 laps to go. Holding his position at the front after the break was absorbed Michael took the fast line through the last corner, opened up the sprint and never looked back for 1st Place honors. On the proceeding day Michael capped a fantastic weekend with a strong 6th Place in the Road Race.

EVENT: Humbold Road Race (Phoenix, AZ) - March 5th / Hungry Dog Criterium (Phoenix, AZ) - March 6th
Sakonnet riders Lee Rosenthal and Andy Guptilll garnered our first top 10 results on the West coast last weekend in Arizona. Racing just outside Phoenix at the Humbold Road Race which featured a dirt road uphill finish thru a stream crossing Lee was downed by a flat tire in the closing miles while Andy road the front with the leaders to an 8th Place finish at the top of the hill. The next day Lee exacted his revenge on bad luck by spending the entire day riding off the front at the Hungry Dog Criterium. In the process he won several cash primes but in the finishing lap the break was brought back. Lee kept his cool and his line to hold onto 9th Place in the ensuing chaos.
