FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY (April 6, 2005) - CRCA/Sakonnet Technology's Andy Guptill has been chosen to represent the U.S. on the U23 National Team at this year's Tour de Georgia. "A fantastic ride at last weekends Redlands Classic where Andy finished 23rd in the Oak Glen Road Race and a high G.C placing in 31st cemented the deal that is taking him to Georgia" said Director Sportif Basil Moutsopoulos.

After shadow boxing with an offer to join the National Team in Belgium, Guptill's ticket into the big leagues has come in. "Bring your shoes, pedals and seat. Everything else will be taken care of when you land," said National Team coach Noel Deojonckheere. Luckily Andy is already using a Specialized bike and there shouldn't be any problems with the transition from his Sakonnet bicycle and his new National Team bicycle.

The Tour of Georgia begins on April 19th in Augusta and travels for 6 days thru Georgia ending in Alpharetta on April 24th. The "Queen Stage" of the race is the final mountain stage up Brasstown Bald Mountain. The 3.5mi stretch of road broke the 2004 peloton apart, the stage was awarded the "Best Day of Racing" in North America by VeloNews magazine.
