New York, NY (May 18th, 2005)
Sakonnet rider David Wiswell has been selected to ride in the U23 Paris-Roubaix (May 29th) for the U23 U.S National Team. The professional event is known as the "Hell of the North" and is one of the most feared events of the racing calendar. The route is made up of almost 50km of cobbled roads that were built by the Romans in northern France. Winners of the amateur version have gone on to illustrious careers in the professional ranks. Past amateur winners that have won the professional event include Tom Boonen (Quick-Step) and the Lion of Flanders Johan Musseuw (retired). David's selection to the Team was secured yesterday when national team coach Noel Doejenkeen called him regarding availability.
