KUHL RIDES FANTASTIC FORM TO VICTORY
06-AUG- 2005

New York, NY

SoYoCo Circuit Race - Brouge, PA (July 31st)

Sakonnet's Chris Kuhl is riding a wave of great form has taken his 3rd victory
of the season. Assisted by teammate Johnny Hayes the two Sakonnet riders
rocked the house the day after the Mt. Holly Grand Prix. Chris' description of
the event can be read below:

"The plan was to get Johnny the win and myself the KOM points going into
today's race, little did we think a select bunch of pros from yesterday's Mt.
Holly would be there. Things changed quickly after the first lap. Johnny
started it out by launching the early break. Only one other responded and
the two stayed away for a few laps. The field was getting smaller each lap.
The course has a good-sized hill at the start finish and it was taking its toll
on the peloton.

Mid way thru the race, I followed a move that bridged up to
Johnny's break. The small break now had 7 men and the attacks began,
as the others in the break didn't like the odds against two Sakonnet boys.
I was feeling great and so I would purposefully gap myself off the break
so that others behind me would have to chase back on.

It was working great until everything came back together and Snow
Valley launched an attack that split the break and it was down to four
of us. I hung on until one to go and launched a counter attack after a
Snow Valley rider went for the King of the Mountain Points. I stayed
away solo for 3/4 of the lap and then a rider from the Land Rover
Team bridged back up and as soon as he got on my wheel I went
again up the finishing hill to take 1st Place.

Johnny did a great job to stay in front of the field to take 6th Place."

Mt. Holly Grand Prix - Mt. Holly, NJ (July 30th)

A full Sakonnet Technology U25 Team lined up for today's regional classic.
On the line SKNT had Mike Chauner (just back from Belgium), Chris Kuhl,
Jon Swain, Alex Ferrero, Lee Rosenthal and Johnny Hayes. The field included
three professional squads, NJ locals Navigators Insurance, the Canadian
Ital-Pasta Team whom we saw at the G.P de Beauce and the Mid-Atlantic
Snow Valley squad.

The team road fantastically in an all out effort to capture
the Sprinters Jersey. The race consisted of 7 large loops (12mi each) and
3 finishing loops (2.5mi each). At the end of each lap the first 5 riders across
the line where scored for Sprint points. The Sakonnet lead-out train saw
Chauner and Kuhl finish in the top 3 of each of the sprints. Before the finishing
circuits Chauner was sitting in 2nd place and Kuhl was in 3rd place.

A late attack with 5 miles to go before the first small circuit (Melito Heridia -Team
Toga!) set the stage for the finish of the race. Two other attackers joined
him and the three together stayed away until the finish. As there were more
points for the finishing laps than in the beginning loops Chauner and Kuhl
dropped in the standings and in the end Kuhl finished in 5th place in the
Sprinters Competition.

The Team would like to thank the support crew (David, Cary, Lauren and David)
for their expert assistance.
