Ft. Lewis Team Chosen for Collegiate Nationals - Durango, CO (October 25th)

Sakonnet riders Johnny Hayes and Andy Guptill have been selected to represent
their school team at the upcoming Collegiate National Mountain Bike Championships.
The event is being held this coming weekend in Seven Springs, PA and both riders
will be racing the Cross Country and Short Track Events. Ft. Lewis College comes
into the event as the defending 2004 Team Champions and are strongly favored to
repeat in the Division 1 category. Guptill noted, "I really want to take this one as it's
my last race as a collegiate racer".

Verdugo Cyclo-Cross Race - Glendale, CA (October 23rd)

Sakonnet's west-coast manager Bob/Bruce Weyman laid the smack down in the
35+ category at this past Sunday's cross race in Southern California. Weyman a
skilled crosser who came to the sport late looks forward to the winter each year
for another opportunity to cross it up. After a grueling race Weyman was battling
for 3rd place with another rider, the decision was made going into a tricky corner
that either "I was going to make it or crash". Weyman carried his speed thru the
corner cleanly and his shadow bit the dust behind him. Weyman cruised to a fine
3rd place in the event.
