4/30/06 Palmer Road Race – Palmer, MA

New Sakonnet regional rider Mike Margarite who joined the team just a week ago made a splash in his debut race in the team’s colors by taking 5th Place at this northeast classic. Mike comes to SKNT from the infamous NYC Toga! Team and brings with him some savvy racing skills. In this first event for us Mike attacked the field and solo’d for close to a lap of the course before being joined by a chase group of seven men. After working hard to keep the break alive and after counter-attacking a last kilometer attack Mike was swarmed at the line, narrowly missing the win.

4/29/06 Sturbridge Road Race 30+ - Sturbridge, MA

Sakonnet riders Russell Kelly and Stephan Badger tackled this crash filled 30+ event. Kelly kept things intact in the early parts of the event for Badger’s fast finish however multiple crashes in the final meters foiled the SKNT plan. Badger however still managed a fine 8th Place.

4/15/06 New House Criterium – Charlestown, RI

Sakonnet’s Robbie Giannini continues his strong string of spring performances with another top placing this weekend. After a break of seven riders managed to slip the field Robbie took second in the field sprint for a fine 9th Place at this wild and wooly criterium in Rhode Island.
