SAKONNET Rider makes the jump to the Pro ranks

The CRCA/Sakonnet Technology U25 Cycling Team is proud to announce that they have graduated their first rider to the paid ranks of professional cycling. Sakonnet rider Andy Guptill has accepted a contract from the Connecticut based Target Training Professional Team and will be joining the team at the upcoming Teleperformance Tour of the Gila stage race.

The Sakonnet team has been in existence for just a little more than two seasons with the goal of guiding developing talent; with the transfer of Guptill the team has found success. Guptill’s strong rides at the Redlands Classic and the Sea Otter Classic caught the eye of several professional teams and it was only a matter of time before the right offer arrived. “Andy joined the team in our first season and quickly became our G.C leader in multi-day events. He has been a wonder to work with and we couldn’t be happier for him, we wish him the best in the next phase of his career” said Sakonnet Director Sportif Basil Moutsopoulos.
