6/6 Kissena Tuesday Night Race Series #1 Brooklyn, NY

Sakonnet’s Long Island native Lee Rosenthal and regional rider Mike Margarite tackled the first race of the “KTNRS” at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, NY. This course used to be New York City’s first airport and features strong winds at all times of the year. Rosenthal launched several attacks and escaped the field with a break away group of 5 riders. In the end his companions where no match and Lee solo’d to 1st Place. Lee also holds the lead in the individual series and the team is also in 1st Place in the team series.

6/6 SMRV/YBR Time Trial Series #1 Mechanicsburg, PA

Sakonnet’s Chris Kuhl sharpened up his time trailing skills on this 20km course in rural Pennsylvania. Chris took 1st Place in convincing style by recording a time of 28:38, a full 1:05 ahead of the second place finisher.

6/8 Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling Reading Criterium (Amateur Invitational) Reading, PA

A full Sakonnet team entered the event looking to better their 3rd Place from last Sunday’s Lancaster Criterium. The race course was not conducive for a breakaway and the event came down to a field sprint. Jonathan Swain and David Wiswell where working hard to keep Michael Chauner at the front and in the end Mike sprinted to 6th Place, Guy East nabbed 10th Place. The team landed the last money spot as well, 20th Place.

6/10 CRCA Team Cup #3 I.T.T Brooklyn, NY

After a missed opportunity at last weeks Team Cup #2 the team was looking for some revenge and brought three U25 riders to the Club Time Trial Championships. The Team had hoped to place three men in the top ten and that is what happened. The win escaped our riders as two Merrill Lynch men road brilliant times for first and second. Johnny Hayes clocked a very fast time for 3rd Place, followed by Lee Sossen in 4th Place and the team rounded out the day with Chris Kuhl's 9th Place.

6/11 Nature Valley Grand Prix Team Named Minneapolis, MN

The Sakonnet Technology U25 Cycling Team will be traveling to the five day Nature Valley Grand Prix NRC Stage Race this coming week in Minnesota. Racing begins on Wednesday with a short 5-mile prologue and finishes up on Sunday night in Minneapolis with the Mankato Road Race.
