Mike is a relative newcomer to competitive cycling, but he has progressed quickly, earning his CAT2 upgrade within a year of his first USCF race. For many years, Mike has enjoyed running and some mountain biking in the parks in his family's hometown in Massachusetts, but Mike's debut on the road was not until 2004, while Mike was studying philosophy in Northwestern University's PhD program. Mike has since left academia and returned to New York, where he will be getting his MBA at Columbia, his undergrad alma mater.
In 2005, Mike collected several wins and numerous placings, and by the end of his first full season, Mike had become a player in regional Pro/1/2 events, particularly long, hilly road races. Mike is excited to continue improving, and is eager to represent the Sakonnet squad in local, regional and some NRC events.
