5th Place: Phil Gaimon

In Phil’s own words – Editor
“This morning I set the alarm for 5 AM to make my 7:47 start at the amateur time trial in Philadelphia. The course was 8.5 miles out and back along the river. I'm wrapping up a heavy training week and felt it a little, not quite hitting the heart rate and power levels I can usually maintain for that sort of effort. I still averaged 29.0 mph and beat the guys I was watching out for on the start list. It turns out that a lot of times were messed up, so after a number of protests and waiting periods, I got bumped to 5th (half of a second out of 3rd).” – Phil Gaimon
